Eustis, FL (April 9, 2021) – On Friday morning, April 9, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred at an intersection in Eustis.
According to officials, the crash took place at the intersection of FL-44 and Cassia Church Road. Florida Highway Patrol officials confirmed that a 56-year-old Eustis man was driving a Ford pickup truck and attempted to turn left, traveling directly into the path of a motorcycle. The two collided, causing the 87-year-old rider to be ejected from his motorcycle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were present at the scene. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
