Deltona, FL (June 26, 2021) – A man was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident that occurred on Friday afternoon, June 25, in the Deltona area.
According to reports released by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on East Normandy Boulevard and Clay Court. Deputies said that the driver of a 2003 Dodge Ram was traveling northeast on East Normandy when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to spin into oncoming traffic. The truck struck a 2015 Volkswagen sedan driven by 84-year-old Donald Glenn Fisher. Fisher was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, 79-year-old Thomas Allen Snip, and the Dodge truck driver, 45-year-old Robert Earl Shavers, Jr., were both transported by ambulance to an area medical center with life-threatening injuries.
Both of those men remain in critical condition at the hospital.
Officials with the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate the crash and have not released further details.
